This project involved the renovation of existing operating rooms to support minimally invasive surgical procedures and equipment. The space was designed to facilitate the use of the latest, high-tech robotic surgery methods.

The project called for replacing all OR lights with specialized lighting fixtures that included video cameras. Additional cameras were installed in the rooms to transmit on-going procedures to remote locations and an observation suite was added for educational purposes.

Two anesthesia booms and two equipment booms were installed in order to facilitate removing all equipment from the surgical floor. This design solution provides a better system to organize surgical supplies and equipment, more flexibility in utilizing the operating room space, improved infection control, and greater ease in moving the surgical patient in and out of the operating room.
