St. Clair Hospital is an independent community hospital providing comprehensive, high quality care to the residents of Southwestern Pennsylvania. The Hospital retained IKM Incorporated, as a knowledge-based healthcare planning and design firm, to provide professional services to implement the building and facility plan for a new Emergency Department.

This renovation of Memorial Hospital’s Existing Emergency Department corrects circulation patterns, increases patient privacy, and expands into adjacent space abandoned by other projects within the Hospital in order to accommodate the increase in the number of patients the Hospital has been experiencing. The total area is 12,000 square feet.

With their knowledge base of healthcare design and long term relationship with the West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS), IKM was retained by Canonsburg General Hospital (part of WPAHS) to design a new Emergency Department.

PIttsburgh healthcare architects, IKM Incorporated were selected to design of the addition to the existing Indiana Regional Medical Center to create a state-of-the-art Emergency Department. The program called for twenty exam/treatment rooms and three dedicated trauma rooms. Separate entrances are provided for ambulance patients and ambulatory/walk-in patients.
